Start and follow a conversation round
A conversation round helps HR set up the same type of conversation for several attendees without creating every conversation by hand. Each attendee gets a separate conversation with their host.
Permission to manage rounds gives you access to setup and progress. It does not give you access to employees' preparation, private notes or conversation summaries.
Before you start
Make sure a suitable conversation template is published. Check that the employees' current organisation details and line managers are correct, because Markular uses these details to suggest a host.
Start a round
- Open People, then Employee conversations.
- Select Conversation rounds, then New round. The controls follow your chosen Markular language.
- Choose a published template, name the round and set the date it should be completed by.
- Choose the employees. Markular starts with your current working country; you can change country or narrow the list by department.
- Review the host for every employee.
- Review the final summary and select Start round.
Nothing is created until the final step. When the round starts, the selected employees and hosts are kept as a fixed list. Later organisation changes do not silently move an existing conversation to someone else.
When Markular cannot find one clear manager
Markular uses the person starting the round as host when it cannot find exactly one active line manager. These exceptions are clearly marked. You must confirm them before the round can start.
You can go back and correct the employee selection or organisation information instead of accepting the fallback.
Follow progress
The round list shows rounds you started. Open a round to see how many conversations are:
- not started;
- in preparation;
- in conversation;
- completed.
You can also see each employee's host and whether a fallback was used. You can open a conversation only when you are one of its participants.
If a host is inactive or no longer has a sign-in account, the conversation is marked Action needed. Select Change host, choose an active colleague in your permitted area, review the access consequence and confirm the transfer. The new host receives participant access and the previous host loses it. The conversation and its round progress remain unchanged.
Round administration shows status and responsibility only. It never reveals preparation, private notes or the shared outcome, including when you change an unavailable host.
Language and historical consistency
The round setup and progress views follow the signed-in administrator's language, locale and time zone. Each conversation keeps the template language, locale and time zone selected when the round starts. Changing a preference or publishing a newer template later does not rewrite an existing conversation.
Names, purposes, talking points and participant-written content are never translated automatically.
Access and privacy
- Your People access decides which employees you can include.
- Managing a round does not make you a participant in its conversations.
- Only the attendee and conversation host can read the conversation content.
- Starting a round is recorded in the security history without names, notes, prompts or conversation content.
- Changing a host is recorded without conversation content or personal values.
