View People insights

People Insights gives you an overview of the workforce information available for your responsibility. It uses the same access boundary as Directory: your active access role decides which people, profile fields and additional People areas contribute to the overview.

Open the overview​

  1. In People, open Insights, then Workforce overview.
  2. Review the access summary at the top. It shows whether you have broad or focused access, how many people are included and which People access roles supply the information.
  3. Use Why can I see this? to read a plain-language explanation of the boundary.
  4. Search the People in scope table to find someone within your current scope.
  5. Use the country, department and employment status filters to narrow the list. Only filters based on fields included in your role are shown.
  6. Select Columns to choose which approved fields are visible. Your person column remains fixed while you scroll horizontally.

For users with broad People access, the country filter starts with the signed-in person's Current Working Country when it matches an available country. Choose All countries to widen the view. A focused access role is not narrowed further by this default.

The table uses a lock when a field is not included for a particular person and a dash when the field is included but has no registered value. Select a row to open the person's accessible profile.

Country and department summaries appear only from fields you are allowed to see. Qualification and documentation totals appear only when your access role includes those People areas. Managed documentation is counted only when you can also open the underlying document. Information outside either access boundary is not counted and is not returned to the page.

Export People data​

Export is a separate permission. If your access role contains Export People insights, select Export to download an Excel workbook containing the same filtered people and approved fields. If the button is unavailable, you can still use the overview but cannot export it.

Every successful export is recorded in the application audit log. The audit event records bounded facts such as row and field counts, but not report rows, search values or cell contents.

Broad access and established reports​

People administrators and others with broad People access can also open the established reports under Insights. Document overview is available to a focused role when it includes Personnel documents; People data and Competence gaps remain broad-access tools until they are adapted to focused roles.
