Add competency requirements

Define which competencies a position requires, so only qualified people fill it. In Markular you do this with a Job Capsule: a named set of required competencies that you attach to a position.

Job Capsules live in the People module (People → Competencies → Job Capsules), not the Skills module.

Before you start​

  • You need a People administrator role.
  • You know which position you want to set requirements for.

Create a job capsule​

  1. In People, open Competencies, then Job Capsules.
  2. Choose Add Job Capsule and give it a title, an optional description, and (if the whole set of competencies should be reviewed periodically) an expiry date. Set it active.
  3. Save the capsule.

Add the required competencies​

  1. Open the capsule you just created.
  2. Add each competency the role requires. For each one you can set an optional proficiency level (the standard the person should meet), not just that they hold it.
  3. Save. The capsule now lists everything the role needs.

Assign the capsule to a position​

  1. Open the position you want to set requirements for.
  2. In the Job Capsule field, select the capsule you built.
  3. Save. Everyone in that position is now measured against the capsule's competencies.
